Lake Compounce Theme Park

It started out hazy and humid showing no sign of sunshine with temperatures in the 70's - and then it got wetter. If you got to them in time and stayed awhile, the food pavilions at the barbeque area provided welcome shelter as the skies opened up. Some people didn't mind though. It is, after all, a water park with attractions designed to drench you anyway. Around mid-to-late afternoon, the weather lifted and the lines grew.

The barbeque, as always, was very tasty and satisfying and offered some respite from the weather. A rain or shine event, our UAW Local 571 family picnic this year ended up being the former. With any luck, the 800 or so ticket-holders persevered and enjoyed some down time. Our appreciation goes to the local's officers and recreation committee for making the event possible.
